This week sojourn I was back on the tools as an expert valuer assessing some plastic injection moulding machines.
In simple terms plastic injection moulding melts granule plastic, squeezes it into a mould, cools it down to solidify, making the product. The finished product then literally falls out the bottom, or in the case of this equipment, which was very large, is removed by robot.
As the expert valuer I have to consider other uses for the machines, and how deep the market is for a used machine, when considering my values.The real beauty of plastics is that the manufacturer can recycle his own “mistakes” as well as a major parallel recycling industry that recycles not only moulders faulty products, but also community waste as well.
